Team Samaritans Raises Nearly $300,000 for Lifesaving Services

On April 20, 17 runners completed the 2026 Boston Marathon® for Team Samaritans.
This year’s group set a goal of $205,000 but has raised nearly $300,000 to date. All money raised will go toward funding Samaritans’ lifesaving services.
“We are so appreciative of everything Team Samaritans did for our organization and our community,” said Kathy Marchi, Samaritans CEO & president. “From exceeding their fundraising goal, to courageously sharing their stories, to supporting each other throughout the entire training process—this was truly a special group. Everyone at Samaritans is so proud of them.”
Two members of Team Samaritans—Roxana Chu and Kirstin Pellom—earned a Sixth Star Medal, having now completed each of the Abbott World Marathon Majors: Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York, and Tokyo.
Emily Brooks was the team’s top fundraiser, raising more than $36,000 for Samaritans. Ryan O’Keefe was the group’s top finisher on Monday, completing the course in 3 hours, 33 minutes, and 29 seconds.
This was the 19th consecutive year in which Samaritans fielded a Boston Marathon team (2008-2026). In all, the organization has raised more than $3 million for suicide prevention services through participation in the Boston Marathon.
