Fostering Connection for Adults Ages 55+
As we age, life brings many joyful days and challenging moments. For adults 55 and older, major life changes like retirement, health issues, moving from home, and grief can lead to feelings of isolation, sadness, and suicidal thoughts. But those who are struggling do not have to face these moments alone.
Samaritans offers free, 1-hour workshops designed to foster connection, community, and hope for adults 55+. Created by experienced trainers with clinical guidance and grounded in 50 years of expertise the program covers:
- How to care for our mental health and build personal resilience
- Risk factors and warning signs to watch for
- Practice effective listening skills to support loved ones
- How to get help if someone is struggling

This workshop is particularly valuable for caregivers supporting older adults. You are not alone, and your presence can make a difference.
Caregivers Who Serve Older Adults
Our suicide prevention workshops for caregivers who work with older adults aims to empower professionals with skills and resources to support a patient in crisis. Additional discussion may include de-stigmatizing suicide and mental illness in the community, self-care and stress management, and who to reach out to if you, a coworker, or a loved one may be struggling.
