Hey Sam: Our New Teen Support Text Line

Hey Sam is a dedicated peer-to-peer texting service for people up to age 25. It is designed for young people and staffed by young people. For several months, we have been working to expand our crisis services by focusing on delivering befriending to young people. This program, named Hey Sam, was created in collaboration with Massachusetts’ State Senator Becca Rausch through the critical resources she helped to secure.

This week is our official launch of this vital service.  If you are in need of someone to listen and talk, text 439-726. Youth volunteers will be responding to the messages that come in through this line, available from 9am-9pm EST everyday.

People ages 15-24 who want to help us answer Hey Sam texts are encouraged to learn more and fill out a volunteer inquiry form here.

Hey Sam is an extension of our current services to promote youth mental health. As always, our existing Helpline is still available 24x7x365 to anyone of any age.
