Break the Silence

Our education workshops teach people how to take care of their own mental health and be a lifeline for others. For 50 years we have offered this service for free to schools, workplaces, and institutions of all kinds.

Since our founding, suicide rates have increased to the highest rate since 1941, with nearly 50,000 lives lost to suicide in 2022. Certain groups, including communities of color, LGBTQ+ folks, and young people are at heighted risk. Loneliness has become a dangerous epidemic, and human connection is needed now more than ever.

If we don’t talk about it, it doesn’t mean it goes away.

In the past 50 years, we have educated 180,000 people on how to support mental health. Our free workshops on suicide prevention are delivered to middle and high schools, colleges and universities, workplaces, elder care facilities, and community organizations. Bring Samaritans to your school, workplace, or community as we celebrate 50 years of finding hope.
