Free Suicide Prevention Workshops for Workplaces

Employees are in a good position to notice changes in behavior in their fellow coworkers. Our mental health workshops break down the stigma of suicide and provide a supportive environment for discussion among colleagues. Hosting a workshop demonstrates your commitment to your staff’s mental wellbeing. These free workshops also support employees whose lives have been touched by suicide. Workshops can be tailored to your workplace’s specific needs.

Construction

Construction workers are one of the professions at highest risk of suicide in Massachusetts. Our workshops provide a safe forum for difficult conversations. Topics discussed include dispelling suicide myths, self-care and coping with stress, raising awareness of the signs of suicide, and what to do when they or a loved one need help.

Transportation

Samaritans partners with transport organizations like the MBTA to provide training to drivers, operators, and administration to raise awareness of the signs of suicide, create a workplace supportive of mental health, and coping if they witness a suicide on the job.

First Responders

Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, 911 operators, and other first responders face unique stressors in their jobs. Our workshops provide specialized training to recognize signs of distress in colleagues and oneself, strategies for coping with trauma, and resources for seeking help.
