Samaritans 2025 TCS NYC Marathon Team Application

New York City Marathon Date: Sunday, November 2nd, 2025
Application Deadline: Monday, March 31st, 2025 at 5pm EST
Applicants will be notified by: Friday, April 4th, 2025

The selection of runners for the 2025 Samaritans TCS New York City Marathon Team is competitive and applications will be evaluated based on each applicant’s proposed fundraising commitment/plan, personal story, connection to the organization and mission, and commitment to completing the marathon.

Our continued participation as a partner in the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon is largely based upon our team’s fundraising success. Our team’s fundraising represents a significant portion of Samaritans’ operating budget, allowing us to serve more people.

It is very important that runners on our team fulfill their fundraising commitments. We require a minimum fundraising commitment of $7,500/runner, with the understanding that half (1/2) of your commitment ($3,750) must be met by August 1th, 2025. We require that you submit a credit card number which will be charged for any shortfall toward that one half benchmark, or if you do not reach your final commitment by December 12th, 2025.

Samaritans will not cover your race fee through the New York Road Runners (NYRR). All runners are responsible for paying their $315 race fee in order to register and run the marathon on November 2nd. This is a fee that NYRR has all runners pay.

As this is a competitive selection process, please be sure to complete every answer. After submitting, you should be redirected to pay your $26 application fee. If this does not happen, or if you have any other questions or issues, please email the Events Team at events@samaritanshope.org.

Fundraising Commitment and Plan
Samaritans runners are required to commit to raising at least $7,500. Setting an ambitious, yet realistic, fundraising commitment is very important as team members who do not meet their commitment jeopardize Samaritans' chances of receiving entries from the TCS New York City Marathon in the future. We require team members to submit credit card information to meet any shortfall.

If selected, you will be responsible for raising this amount and submitting a credit card number to pay any shortfall. Commitment levels will be considered when selecting the team, but please be realistic in what you can commit to raise.

This is the amount that you hope to raise. We encourage runners to aim for a goal higher than their financial commitment.

Reminder: After you click Apply, you will be redirected to pay your $26 application fee through our payment system. Your application will be considered incomplete until your application fee is received.

If you are not redirected to the payment platform, or if you have any other questions or issues, please email the Samaritans Events Team at events@samaritanshope.org.
