March 31– May 12, 7:00-8:30pm
After a suicide death, grief can be isolating, confusing, and leave you feeling stuck. Samaritans is offering a Grief Recovery Method® group specifically for suicide loss survivors. This closed support group is a structured weekly program designed to help you move through your grief journey.
Each week, you’ll learn practical tools, complete guided reading and writing assignments, and take small, supported steps forward.
Unlike SafePlace, which offers open, peer-to-peer support grounded in shared experience, the Grief Recovery Method is a closed, 8-session, structured program that follows a curriculum focused on grief and loss. The Grief Recovery Method, developed by the Grief Recovery Institute, is an evidence-based model that has been shown to be effective in helping people deal with the emotional pain of loss.
This group will be led by Samaritans Senior Director of Suicide Grief Support Services Sissi O’Shaughnessy, who is a certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist. Sissi brings both professional expertise and lived experience as a suicide loss survivor, creating a space that is grounded, compassionate, and practical.
