Thank You CCT

Thank you Community Consulting Team! Samaritans was fortunate to be selected for a Community Consulting Team (CCT) project regarding our Helpline Volunteer pipeline. CCT amplifies the impact of Boston-area nonprofits through pro bono management consulting projects performed by teams of experienced MBAs from top-tier business schools.

The problem we presented to CCT was centered around the volunteer pipeline, the lifeline for our Crisis Services program.

Pre-pandemic we were routing folks through an application process, an in-person interview, and in-person training at our office in Downtown Crossing. During the pandemic, all of the above is now done virtually.

When the pandemic began hundreds of people reached out from all over the country with a desire to help us answer the influx of calls and texts from those who were struggling.

CCT Team did deep dive into data along with many conversations with staff and peer orgs.

This project with our CCT team is already having an impact on our work. The team shared key outcomes and impacts of this project, along with their deep gratitude and appreciation:

  • #1. The CCT team created a Dynamic Scheduling tool that will allow us to intelligently schedule shifts based on history and predicted demand to ensure optimal service levels.
  • #2 CCT has presented us with data and information to help us recruit volunteers more effectively and thereby maximize the return on investment of time in selection, training, support and volunteer hours provided.

Helping us to improve the process and retention of volunteers for a core program, one of our most treasured programs is truly lasting, genuine, and real. CCT has improved our ability to serve those who need us.

Thank you!
