The 16th Annual “Run/Walk For Someone Else’s Life” Samaritans 5K and Family Fun Festival!
The 16th Annual Samaritans 5K Run/Walk for Someone Else’s Life and Family Fun Festival was held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Artesani Park. It was beautiful day to celebrate life! Whether you walked, ran, volunteered, or were a virtual participant, thank you so much for everything you did to help us close the day having raised a record breaking $355,000 towards our lifesaving Samaritans’ services. This is just $45,000 away from our goal of $400,000, and with your help we are confident that we can achieve this goal together. When you looked at the crowds of teams and families and friends on Saturday, you knew you weren’t alone. We run for those we remember. We walk for those we love. We come together to make a difference. To see pictures from the 5K, click here.
Samaritans is a locally based non-profit organization, all of the proceeds generated from the 5K help fund our life-saving services, including our 24/7 helplines, Community Education and Outreach, and Grief Support Services for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. These vital services are available to the families, friends and neighbors that live in our community, free of charge. We are the only suicide prevention walk in the Commonwealth that provides financial support to the 24/7 crisis lines answered by Samaritans, including those calls we answer from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
If you have questions about joining us at the 5K, making a donation, or anything else 5K related, contact us via email or call the Samaritans’ Development Office at 617-536-2460.
