Since losing her son, Ryan, to suicide in 2014, Debbie Connolly and her family have selflessly dedicated their time, generously donated their money, and tirelessly supported Samaritans’ mission. As part of the Samaritans Board of Directors from 2016-2025, Debbie has played a significant role in Every Conversation Counts as a campaign cabinet co-chair, helping Samaritans raise more than $23 million.
“Being a part of this essential campaign makes me feel as hopeful as ever that we are moving toward a world without suicide,” Debbie says. “A world in which people like Ryan always have someone to talk to, so that they never feel alone.”
“Before Ryan died, he asked us to do great things. To help others and make the world a better place. Being a part of the Samaritans community has given us that purpose.”
