DESCRIPTION:Celebrating 50 Years of Human Connection and\nLifesaving Suicide Prevention Work\nMonday April 1\, 2024 at the Grand Staircase\, Massachusetts State House\nFeaturing keynote speaker Governor Maura Healey\nSince 1974\, Samaritans has helped millions of people in Massachusetts find hope when they are struggling with their mental health or grieving a loss to suicide. Join us at the State House to advocate for Samaritans\, celebrate our 50 years of impact\, and support our request for state funding in FY25. \nProgram Overview\n9:30am – Coffee and Networking \n10:30am – Speaking program featuring: \n\nKeynote speaker Governor Maura Healey\nSecretary of Health and Human Services Kate Walsh\nMA Senator Becca Rausch\nMA Representative Ted Philips\nSamaritans CEO & President Kathleen C. Marchi\nSamaritans Chief Clinical Officer Kacy Maitland\nHey Sam Team Member Arnetia Jean\n\nMeet with your legislators to advocate for Samaritans\nMeet briefly with your state representatives and senators while you are at the State House on April 1. Thank your legislators for their past support\, ask them to continue funding lifesaving suicide prevention work\, and discuss why Samaritans is important to you. We will provide a brief script and materials for you to deliver. \nPlease RSVP by March 29. \n\nRSVP\n\n  \nGetting There\nYou can find information about how to get to the State House by foot\, MBTA\, or car at the State House website. \nThe State House entrance on Beacon Street will be closed on Monday\, April 1. Use the Ashburton Park Entrance at 122 Bowdoin Street. This entrance is handicap accessible. There are security checkpoints at all entrances\, so please plan to arrive early. \nAfter you go through security\, take the elevator to the second floor. Our event will take place at the foot of the Grand Staircase on the second floor. \nLegislative Visits\nWhen you arrive at the Grand Staircase\, check in at our resource table to let a staff member know you are here and that you signed up to do a legislator visit. They will give you instructions on where to go to speak with your legislator\, talking points for you to discuss with your legislator\, and a packet of information to leave behind. \nLegislator visits will occur beginning at 11:30 am following the speaking program. Some legislators have requested to confirm meetings with their constituents. You may receive email communication from Charles Group Consulting on behalf of Samaritans to confirm your legislator visit.
