Samienta Pierre-Vil joined Samaritans in February of 2020 as an Overnight Helpline Coordinator. She was eager to join an organization that focused on the mental health of others and jumped at the opportunity when Samaritans opened the door. Joining an organization that not only positively impacts the Boston area but individuals living all around the United States has invigorated Samienta’s passion to advocate for adequate services for vulnerable populations. She is also the Program Director for the Suffolk University Upward Bound Program. In that organization, she is able to provide services to underrepresented high school scholars who deserves the opportunity for an equal and equitable education. Samienta has also served on the Massachusetts Educational Opportunity Association and is currently serving on the New England Educational Opportunity Association’s Board of Directors. During her free time, Samienta spends it all with family and friends enjoying the outdoors and exploring new adventures.
