LGBTQ+ Community

People in the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Two-Spirit, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual) community are at an increased risk of discrimination and suicide.

In fact, The Boston Foundation’s report on Equality and Equity, found that 48% of Massachusetts’ LGB youth have considered attempting suicide, compared to 11% for non-LGB youth.

For people with intersecting identities that have been historically marginalized, this risk is even higher. For instance, one in three Black trans youth have tried to take their life in the last year, according to a report by the Trevor Project.

We’ve compiled the following resources in the hopes that they may help people in the LGBTQ+ community find help on their journey to mental health.
