Samaritans 5K Run/Walk and Family Fun Festival
Help Samaritans reduce the incidence of suicide by joining us for the 14th Annual 5K Run/Walk along the Charles River! Be one of the thousands to raise funds and awareness for local suicide prevention efforts in Greater Boston and Metrowest!

Time: Registration opens at 8:00 am. Run/Walk begins at 10:00 am.

What: The Samaritans 5K Run/Walk is an annual fundraiser to benefit the work of Samaritans, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the incidence of suicide. Thank you to everyone who made the event a success last year! We hope to see you this September.

The 5K is a wonderful event for the entire Samaritans community. Each year, over 2,000 runners, walkers, volunteers and spectators flock to Artesani Park to raise both funds for Samaritans and awareness about suicide, the third leading cause of death for Massachusetts youth and the nation's tenth leading cause of death for all ages.
Participants can run or walk in the event an as individual, or organize a 5K Team with family and friends. Last year, over 130 teams were organized in support of Samaritans and/or in memory of a loved one. You can feel the love and support that characterize the day when you look through pictures from past events, and especially when you review the 2011 Memorial List in which we remember the more than 200 people being honored by 5K participants.
